The Eastern Coast dances to the tune of the Georgian show
The UAE eastern coast danced yesterday night, Sunday, February 21, to the tune of the spectacular show presented by the Georgian State Youth Dance Company in the third day of Fujairah International Arts Festival (FIAF). The young 39 virtuous talented dancers, in the age group from 9 to 11 years, proved unmatched performing skills that together, with fascinating polyphonic songs, narrate the Georgian history. The show was met with great applause and acclaim of the mesmerized fans in the fully packed makeshift Fujairah Corniche Theater.
“This is our debut in UAE and the Mena region in which we presented different folkloric dances and costume each of which represents one of part of Georgia,” Gia Davitashvili, the group founder, general choreographer and the former soloist of Georgian National Ballet, said to Fujairah News. “Through this show we want to present analogue of each area of our history and to tell our young sons and the whole world how the Georgian people used to live in the past”.
The group members and undergo a very tough selection tests and rigorous training to be able to perform in such way, he added.
The children’s ensemble of national dances has been established in 1993 in Tbilisi and since has taken part in more than 1250 concerts in international festivals in 41 countries worldwide proving high performing skills that won them numerous prizes.
All in all, the professionalism and strict discipline of the group won the show the success it deserves.
